I see, they also produced a lot of your earlier releases in your catalog.
Jayaire Woods: Yea, I consider them my two main producers. They produced all of Trees [Trees42morrow] and ‘FREETHEFALL’ and on this one, I just ventured out, because it’s summer, like I said. With Jordeaux, he more in that fall wave, his shit real hard, type shit. But with VZN, like I said, we built this whole sound ground up, so any project I got, he’s going to be on.
Did you guys get signed together? How did that work?
Jayaire Woods: He got signed off me getting signed.
Since you guys got signed together, do you think that the relationship has changed since you said you all don’t work together as much.
Jayaire Woods: We still work the same. We still communicate the same. I think it just made us put our foot on the pedal more. We know, ‘We got this shit. We can do this shit. We capable’. It’s easier to be flexible. Like, he’ll do whatever he wants on a beat, and I’ll do whatever I want because we’re comfortable and we know what we’re capable of at this point. I don’t know if that came through the confidence of the label, or what, but I know like we’ve been doing it for long enough. We just built for it, I guess.
He really signed probably like 2 months after me. He’s been signed for a minute. They was fucking with our sound we had together too. like, ’Two Shoes’, that’s really what got them. Then they was like, ‘Man, we need you on this shit’. Then they found out he did half of ’Trees’ [Trees42morrow] , and it was over with.
So, you’re really coming up with your ‘day one’, pretty much. That’s dope.
Jayaire Woods: Yea. And that’s kinda how it happened for OG Maco and OG Parker. And now you hear Parker on everybody shit now, and they both QC. I think that’s a good method—a good way to do it; starting with my ‘day ones’. I’m glad that I got producers that I have that type of chemistry with. Where I can ask them for something at any time and they going to rock with me and deliver, 100% deliver.
Speaking of QC, is there anything in the works? I know, last year, you toured with Lil Yachty, is there anything you’re looking to do, or will be doing in the near future?
Jayaire Woods: Me and Yachty already have songs in the vault, from the tour, and before the tour, that I can drop at any time. I think I’mma drop a song me and Yachty did last year soon. But other than that, nah. I got a lot of features coming up. That’s something that I’m definitely starting to get into, or wanting to get into. I’m trying to force myself because I’ve never been big on features on my shit. I like to finish everything I start, so when I start a song, I damn-near finish it. So, now I’m getting into that mode of doing features. I hope they will accent me well, and put me in the position I want to be in, like the Sean Deaux shit. When I do them, I want them to be right.
